mental alertness and spiritual upliftment which are
at the core of our operations across the country
and the world at large,'' he said.

to maintain an optimal level of physical fitness and
mental alertness as the military makes effort to

Good News: Price Of Petrol May Crash Next Week
There are indications the price of petroleum
products may crash next week.
This was disclosed on Wednesday, August 6, by the
Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of
Nigeria (IPMAN) Ilorin branch.
According to report, IPMAN members have been
asked to dispose the products they have in stock to
avoid loss when the price crashes.
The association chairman, Alhaji Sulaiman O.
Olanrewaju during an emergency meeting to address
the factional crisis rocking it for some time now, said
members who fail to dispose their available products
may suffer great loss as they are sure of how much
the product will fall to.
Olanrewaju commended the government for their
effort in reviving all petroleum depots in the country.
The IPMAN boss, however, lamented that they cannot
sell the product they bought at N96 for N87.
He added that the price of petrol will soon go back to
N87 in Ilorin as most feeling stations sell above the
N87.
Before leaving office, former president, Goodluck
Jonathan reduced the price of petrol from N97 to
N87. But for some months now, Nigerians have been
buying petroleum products above N87 pump price.
Nigerians all over the country have been complaining
that they have to buy petrol for N110 and above
instead of N87 per litre.
The Department of Petroleum Resources had vowed
to sanction depot owners and major marketers who
sell petrol and kerosene above the official price.

Crude Oil and Gas Export will no longer be sufficient
as Nigeria's major revenue earner. It's time to go
back to the land in Nigeria . – Buhari
August 7, 2015
President Muhammadu Buhari said Friday in Abuja
that the time has come for Nigerians to do more than
pay mere lip service to agriculture, as crude oil and
gas exports will no longer be sufficient as the
country's major revenue earner.
President Buhari made the declaration at an
audience with Dr Kanayo Nwanze, the Nigerian born
President of the International Fund for Agricultural
Development (IFAD), at the Presidential Villa.
"It's time to go back to the land. We must face the
reality that the petroleum we had depended on for so
long will no longer suffice. We campaigned heavily on
agriculture, and we are ready to assist as many as
want to go into agricultural ventures," the President
said.
The President pledged that his administration will
also cut short the long bureaucratic processes that
Nigerian farmers had to go through to get any form
of assistance from government.
He told the IFAD President that improvement of the
productivity of farmers, dry season farming, and
creative ways to combat the shrinking of the Lake
Chad will also receive the attention of his
administration.
"There is so much to be done. We will try and
articulate a programme and consult organizations
like IFAD for advise," the President said, adding that
foreign exchange will be conserved for machinery
and other items needed for production, "instead of
using it to import things like toothpicks."
Dr Nwanze congratulated President Buhari on his
victory at the general elections and assured him that
IFAD was ready to give all possible assistance to the
Federal Government and Nigerian farmers to boost
agricultural production in the country.
IFAD is an international organization dedicated to
addressing issues of agriculture and poverty
alleviation. It was established in 1978, and has been
collaborating with Nigeria for over 30 years.
