''Following the discovery that the matter before the senate is already in a competent court of law, we are unable to recommend the confirmation; we recommend that the confirmation be suspended''.
That's a paragraph lifted from the 'report of the Ethics and Privileges Committee of the Senate on the confirmation of Rotimi Amaechi.
Don't even know who among the Senators wrote that particular line.
Something is before a court of law, therefore you can't dabble into it. That's the norm and constitutional thing to do.
You said you were not going to talk about it, yet you went to recommend that he should not be confirmed.
How did the Senator(s) involve in the drafting of the report pass Logic in school?
