While handing over the seized military hardware to the Director of the State Security Service (SSS) at Tin Can Island Port, James Udo, Bashar said: "It's very essential to ensure such prohibited items do not come into the country in view of the prevailing security challenges. The gun and live ammunition falls under that", he explained.
Also speaking at the briefing, James Udo, the Director of SSS, Tin Can Island Port described the seizure as commending, even as he said that security is everybody's business. "Customs, Immigrations, the Police and all other government agencies are working closely to sanitize the country.
"A lot of terrible things are happening with regards to gun robberies etc. We want the country to be safe. In SSS, detection, investigation and prevention of anything that will hurt the nation's security apparatus is our business. We're mandated to maintain the security of the country", he added.
