The Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN), on Thursday, admitted operating non-functional security scanners at some major airports in Nigeria.
This disclosure was made during the agency budget defence session before the House of RepresentativesCommittee on Aviation in Abuja.
Chairman of the House Committee, Rep. Nkeiruka Onyejeocha, made the observation while going through the 2016 capital budget, wherein she expected to see an allocation for the repair or replacement of the faulty security scanning machines at the airports, having noticed that the one at the Port Harcourt International Airport was not functional.
