If this is done successfully, then Kano State would compete favourably with Lagos State in IGR, and would be well ahead of all the oil-producing states including the lazy Rivers State.

Following the commitment of the Kano State government to key into President Buhari's diversification agenda, the CBN also gave out interest free loans to over 10,000 farmers in the state in the Anchor-Borrower program. Several other Nigerian states are beneficiary of this project, even our neighbouring Bayelsa State. Nigeria will be self-sufficient in rice consumption by the end of next year, and will become a net exporter of rice by 2018, one year before Buhari leaves office.
