Nigerian troops have retaken the economic and strategic northeastern town of Gamboru Ngala from Boko Haram militants, army authorities said.
Gamboru Ngala is located in Borno state, the cradle of Boko Haram's violent six-year insurgency.
"The triumphant troops are busy with clearing and mopping up patrols," army spokesperson Sani Kukasheka Usman said in a statement seen by TVC News.
