Nigerian Air Force Commences Three Months Training For Student Pilots

The Nigerian Air Force Training Command in Kaduna State, North West Nigeria, has commenced a three months flying training for 28 student pilots.

The students who commenced training initially at the 301 Training School in Kaduna, have been deployed to the Air Force Training School in Makurdi, Benue State, following the harmattan weather condition that affects visibility in most of the northern part of the country.

Speaking to reporters before their departure, the Air Officer Commanding, Training Command, Air Vice Marshal Wakil Ahmed, said that the purpose of the deployment by the 301 Flying Training School to Makurdi is to maintain the scheduled programme lined up for the students and to avoid disrupting their training timetable due to the poor weather condition.

He explained that the training would further strengthen and boost the capability of the personnel in their operational requirements.

Meanwhile, the Commandant of the Ground Training Centre, Kaduna, Air Commodore Abdulganiyu Olabisi, while inspecting the trainees before their departure, urged them to put more effort to stand the rigorous training of the military profession.

He noted that such training would equip them to be more combatant and contain any form of security threat within and outside the country in their future career. He gave the assurance that the command has provided facilities for the smooth running of the training.

At the end of the training, the students would be subjected to other higher training that would prepare them for the challenges ahead, especially as the country is facing security challenges in the north east.
