The African Leaders Malaria Alliance (ALMA) recently awarded 14 African countries for aggressively driving down malaria in the last four years.
Face2Face Africa reports:
"From 2000, Africa's overall malaria mortality rate has decreased 66 percent, and for children younger than 5 years old, the mortality rate has decreased by 71 percent.
"Of the achievements, Liberian President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf said, 'This is what it looks like when we work together – this is how we build a better future for Africa.'"
