Mike Onoja Donates To Agatu IDPs
A former Permanent Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Defense and an APC chieftain, Chief Mike Onoja today donated half a million to the internally displaced persons camping in Ugbokpo, Ojantele, Ataganyi all in Apa local government area of Benue State.
Making the presentation on behalf of the former gubernatorial aspirant in Benue state, the commissioner of Housing and Urban Development in the state, Barr John Otokpa Onoja said the elder states man's donation was informed by his desire to cushion the immediate hardship being faced by victims of the recent Fulani attack in Agatu.
He stated that though he was an Agila man whose people were under similar attack, it would be inhuman for him to turn his eyes away from the suffering displaced people of Agatu at this trying moment of their lives and called on other well meaning individuals and groups to come to the aid of the Agatu people.
In their separate responses, the Odejo k' Apa, Chief John Anefu Antenyi, Catholic Bishop of Otukpo Dioceses, Michael Apochi, Caretaker Committee Chairmen of Apa and Agatu Hon. Catering Ega and Hon. Joseph Ngbede all praised Chief Onoja for his generosity expressing satisfaction for Onoja's continuous support for the people of Apa and Agatu.
Highlight of the occasion was the donation of other relief materials to the IDPs by the Benue State Finance Commissioner, Hon David Olofu, State APC Legal Adviser, Barr Omale Omale and Special Adviser, Joseph Odaudu
